Robert is a practical employment attorney who represents businesses in labor and employment matters, including workplace safety and health (OSHA) matters and claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful termination.


Robert is experienced in representing employers in OSHA matters from the initial OSHA inspection, all the way through an administrative appeal (trial) of OSHA citations. He is routinely called upon to assist businesses with workplace crises, such as catastrophic injuries and fatalities. He also advises employers on legal safety issues and OSHA regulations.


Robert is a Co-Chair of the firm’s Workplace Violence Prevention Practice Group. He has deep experience in workplace violence prevention, including OSHA compliance, investigations, litigation, and crisis assessment and response. Robert routinely provides training and counsel on workplace violence prevention issues.


Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Robert served as an attorney for the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, handling in-house labor and employment matters and previously, at a Sacramento area civil litigation firm, where he handled employment related matters.


Robert received his juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law. During law school, he served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Eddie C. Sturgeon, San Diego County Superior Court, and as a corporate counsel intern in Jack in the Box, Inc.’s legal department.


He received a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, from the University of San Francisco in Organizational Behavior and Leadership.
